How does digital life insurance applications work?

With digital life insurance, the application can be completed either in-person or over the phone. If completing over the phone, screen sharing is required so you can follow along. At the end, you will sign for the application digitally, and can pay the first premium via credit card or interact.

What should I bring to the first meeting?

Depending on the products and services you are interested in will determine on what is needed for the meeting. For a specific list for your interested services please contact our office.

What is an independent financial advisor?

An independent financial advisor is not linked to just one company, but has access to multiple companies. This means we are able to survey a number of investment and insurance products, and recommend a variety of products to meet your specific needs.

What is the Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation?

The CHS designation is the only health-insurance focused designation in Canada, focusing on life insurance, disability, critical illness, long term care and group benefits. The CLU designation is the superior mark of excellence in the financial services industry, is an elite professional who specializes in risk management, wealth creation and preservation, estate planning and wealth transfer.

What is the difference between critical illness insurance and disability insurance?

Critical illness is a tax-free lump sum payout if diagnosed with one of 24 covered illnesses. Whereas, disability insurance is a monthly payment if you are unable to work, due to illness or injury, for a prolonged period of time.

Can I review my investments online?

Yes depending on the product and the company, you can set up a client profile and view your profile online whenever you wish.

Can I make deposits online or pay my premium online?

Yes, many of the products we offer allow you to pay your premium or more additional deposits online though most major banks.

What is the difference between segregated funds and mutual funds?

Mutual funds are offered by fund companies and can be invested in a diversified group of investments. Segregated funds, are like mutual funds but, are offered through a life insurance company and come with many built in guarantees such as death benefits, creditor protection, and resets.

Does life insurance and critical illness insurance involve additional medical tests?

This depends on your age and the amount of coverage you are looking at. Additional tests can include blood work, urine, and paramedical questions. It is best to contact us to determine if such tests are required.

Do I have to disclose my medical history to my advisor?

If you do not feel comfortable answering the medical questions on an application, a paramedical nurse can be ordered (at no cost to you), to complete the questions on the application.

How long does it take to complete an application?

With digital life insurance applications, the process can take a as little as 30 minutes. Depending on your medical history applications can take up to 45 minutes to complete. Investment applications can take as little as 20 minutes and up to 45 minutes to complete depending on the paperwork involved.

Can I book a meeting outside of business hours?

Absolutely. Timing will very as we both have family time and other obligations and events we attend outside of work.

What insurance products do you offer?

We offer a customized insurance plans for individuals, families, businesses including group benefits. Some of the products we support include: Term Life Insurance, Whole Life Insurance, Universal Life Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, Disability insurance, Health and Dental, and Long Term Care.

How often should I meet with my advisor?

It is recommended to meet with your advisor at least once a year. This annual review can be as short as a 15 minute phone conversation to a full review depending on your situation. If there are changes in your life that require an earlier visit you are always welcome to book a meeting before the annual review date.
